About Us Category
The GLASSMEN provide opportunities that promote and develop life skills and personal enrichment through education, participation and performance.
The GLASSMEN is an Ohio non-profit youth organization. Funding for the group comes from summer performances, special events, bingo operations, individual donors, and several other projects headed up by the corps.
The GLASSMEN Rehearsal Facility, originally built as the Chesterfield High School in 1908, was purchased by the drum and bugle corps in 1988 to provide a permanent home for the organization. It is located 25 miles west of Toledo on US Route 20. This 6.7 acre, 25 room facility is not only used for rehearsals, but also houses and feeds the corps, staff, and volunteers during camps. The site includes a full-size rehearsal field and tower for spring/summer field practice, and ample parking for members, visitors, and tour vehicles.
The GLASSMEN organization is devoted to the education of all the young people it touches, both members and fans.
The drum corps activity has been recognized around the world for its outstanding promotion of leadership and teamwork, and its uniqueness of spectacle and entertainment.
