ORGANIZATION

The GLASSMEN is an Ohio non-profit youth organization. Funding for the group comes from summer performances, special events, bingo operations, individual donors, and several other projects headed up by the corps.

The GLASSMEN is governed by a Board of Directors, comprised of community business leaders, music educators, alumni, parents, and donors. Elections are held annually for these positions. The organization employs two full-time staff members - the Executive Director, and the Office Manager. The corps also employs a large design and instructional staff for the drum corps season.

Using music and performance as an educational means, the GLASSMEN rely heavily on a philosophy involving a family approach. This philosophy and dedication to the well-being of the members has brought worldwide recognition to the organization, while continuing to expand the reach and reputation of the group in the northwest Ohio arena.

The GLASSMEN operates a world-renowned drum and bugle corps, celebrating 15+ years as a Finalist at the annual Drum Corps International World Championships. The corps has remained active for over 45+ years of their existence, performing all over the United States, Canada and Europe in corps competition, parades and educational clinics. The drum corps has also had the unique distinction of being a featured performing ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Hills Symphony and Lima Symphony.
